I think about this all the time. What has helped me is shifting the language — rather than ‘do I feel known by this person?’ I ask ‘is this person curious about me?’ Because as Papi said, we are still knowing ourselves. To me, being in a relationship means being mutually curious about each other.

I think feeling seen in a relationship is important to me. In relationships where I don’t feel seen, I always have to be a little arms-length. I wonder how this intersects with being known? I think they are related but not the same.
